Rochelle Lea Hanslow was born and raised in a small village just outside of Stirling, Scotland, surrounded by beautiful scenic hills and Scottish history. Rochelle has always had an affinity with animals and prides herself on living a vegan lifestyle. A proud tattooed wife and mother to two boys, Rochelle considers her family to be most important to her. If she isn’t spending time with her family and her friends, Rochelle is more than likely to be found with her sweet white Labrador Retriever, Wade Wilson, also known as ‘Dugpool’.

“How to Rest on A Rainbow“ was Rochelle’s first children’s book and her debut into the world of self-publishing. The book is dedicated to her childhood best friend, Dylan, a Rough Collie and to her Black Labrador, Vader, who she classes as her doggy soulmate. In March 2021, Rochelle released her second children’s book, and sequel to her first, “How to Fix A Rainbow”. Her third book “Buck Aye the Coo, who are you noo?” was released in Spring 2022.

Rochelle is a chronic illness and mental health writer who writes non-fiction articles and blog posts for M.E Support UK, for whom she has been Ambassador since 2015 and sole creator of her blog since 2021.

Rochelle launched her own business brand ‘Made You Co.’ in 2021, where you can find ‘Made You Loch’, ‘Made You Books’ and ‘Tangent Ahoy!’ Podcast.

Rochelle loves being outdoors and being on new adventures. In her spare time, she loves to read, paint and draw and has been a creative person since childhood.

Did you know I am the sole contributor to the blog for M.E Support UK?

I became Ambassador in 2015 and I have written web content, reviews and articles for them. When the blog started I contributed sporadically but they were so well received Louise asked me to take it over and be sole contributor in January 2021.

I am proud to advocate for chronic illness and hope my writing supports, represents and most of all helps anyone involved in the #chronicillnesscommunity

I was inspired by @one.tuff.muvva and @bornanxious “One Tuff Kiddo” collection to promote #childrensmentalhealth

We are in a place where we have an all time high of children requiring #mentalhealthsupport

I’ve written a piece that explores the factors and presents the curiosity of underlying roots as well as the harmful use of society of #toxicpositivity

I’m so excited and honoured to share this piece I did for the amazing @rocknrollbride @rocknrollbridemagazine

I have followed Kat and her amazing work for years and for her to agree to feature my writing is a huge deal for me.

My wedding day wasn’t the best day of my life and I’ve learned over the years that’s okay, it’s not for everyone and I’m so grateful to have the experience to share.

Planning a wedding is tough but throw in #chronicillness and #neurodiversity and it’s even more daunting.

Today I thought I’d share a little excerpt of one of my new projects. I’m working on a #shortstorycollection that will focus on 12 different people and scenarios and give a snippet into the lives of #chronicillness

The book is titled “Sincerely Yours, The Incurable Club” and release is scheduled for November 2022.

I’ve chosen short story to allow those in the #chronicillnesscommunity to have a chance of reading as it’ll be smaller chapters and a story per chapter so they can stop and go back when they are able.

Follow me on all socials for updates on this project and to find more work in the meantime follow link in my #bio

“I started to feel that all too familiar feeling of “What’s the f**king point?” kicking in. Imposter syndrome is a fickle mistress, one that you never really know as to when it will join you, it just appears, uninvited and expects you to entertain it. I started to feel like I was failing…”

As a #selfpublishedauthor it is a difficult process in trying to get your books out there. You need to contact suppliers for stores directly and then once you have that agreement you then apply to the store on a Independent Publication basis.

My first book is currently on the @waterstones website and I hope in the coming months my others will be too.

To buy my books you can go on @amazonuk @amazon or you can buy directly from me on my #bookshelf

You can find the link to my bookshelf in my bio 📖 if you’d like to know more about my books or about #selfpublishing comment below ⬇️ or contact me through my contact page on my websites.

Today is International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

As someone who is the daughter of a trans parent I have experienced, felt and seen the turmoil, heartbreak and prejudice of society.
I also know first hand that #transphobia is MADE not BORN.

Everyone deserves to have the right, freedom and safety to live life without judgment and be who they are. Acceptance and love should not be conditional.

As a cisgender person I want to say I admire the strength that I see in the #lbgtqiplus community and I am here, supporting you, seeing you and always willing to listen and understand more.

Parenting is hard on a general level. Being a parent to a child who is #neurodivergent is the most amazing and yet, challenging adventure I’ve ever gone on.

My son is the sweetest kid, he’s so emotionally aware in himself and he’s great when he SEES someone is upset but isn’t great on the not upsetting others scales.

In this blog post I talk about a moment that happened one #mondaymorning and how it can feel to be a parent of a someone who has #neurodiversity and how mentally and emotionally challenging it can be for us too.

Go to link in bio or check out my story to get there direct 🧩
